Oh no! I just realized I have four gallons of milk in my fridge, and they all expire in four days!!!
So I need some ideas of how to use that much milk before it expires.
So far my ideas are:
-eat cold cereal for every snack
-Make dozens of chocolate chip cookies this weekend. I can't eat cookies without milk.
- macaroni and cheese for lunch, every day.
- make home made ice cream
- drink lots of hot chocolate
- Make 3 dozen dinner rolls
Any ideas of how to drink four gallons of milk in four days?
I know some of you probably don't think it's a big deal to drink milk past the expiration date, but I do!

crepes and pancakes! and eat that cheesy pasta where you add milk :)
if you have room in your freezer, milk can be frozen. That's still going past the expiration date but we've done it all my life and it tastes exactly the same. Just set it out the day before you need it and it'll thaw.
I think the better question is, why do you have 4 gallons of milk in your fridge in the first place? Ü Maybe take Kelley's advice and do breakfast food for dinner too? French toast, pancakes, crepés, omeletts, etc? Or you could always give a gallon to a homeless guy on the street, we did that once!
Pudding, if you like it. Kelley said my other ideas. And maybe someone in your ward could use some?
puddings (rice pudding, tapioca pudding, chocolate pudding), ice milk or ice cream, yogurt or frozen yogurt, milk shakes, check out www.gotmilk.com. (butter and cheese... but that's a little over the top...)
We NEVER drink it past the expiration date. It's a miracle if we drink a half gallon in a week. Sad I know. I always make those german pancakes ( eggs, flour, milk). They are SO good if you are craving eggs. I love them. But also we have definitely gone to walmart, each bough a box of our favorite cereal, and ate it for a whole day.
Let Zach and some other guys do the gallon challenge. That would be awesome. And then blog about it.
Yeah caitlin, maybe give 2 away to some families in need. Anyway it will last atleast 3 or 4 days after that, it you keep it cold (don't leave it out of counter)
why do you have that much anyway?
Okay, Caitlin, I know you won't listen to this, but I'll say it anyway. In the "old" days, before there were expiration dates stamped on everything, we used our noses to tell us when food was bad. Milk is a no- brainer because when milk is bad you don't even have to drink it to know it. You have probably never smelled sour milk, because you don't keep your milk that long, though I bet lots of parents let their kids drink milk out of a bottle or sippy cup (that is closed to the nose and harder to detect that it is bad) than will let them drink perfectly good, cold milk out of the refrigerator that is still fresh.
Dairy products typically last about 10 days past the expiration date, so you have a loooong time before you need to "freak-out" (as your bro-in-law would say) Speaking of Erik, I bet he grew up on foods that were way past the "expiration date!"
And since you drink whole milk, that definetly takes longer to go sour. Nonfat goes sour bascially on the expiration date. Just to give you an example, today is the 22 and I used whole milk this morning for a smoothie and the expiration date was the 13th. Crazy huh? But I promise it is still good. Use your nose and taste buds like your mom said.
