I really do believe that if Jonah would Just take a descent nap then he would be a little easier to be around. He is usually such a happy child, but lately he mopes around all day and has temper tantrums. I know he's probably just teething, so I give him cold compresses, numbing gel, and even tylenol sometimes, but I still think he should be sleeping longer than 20 minutes, for the whole day! COME ON! I just had to vent. On the other hand, He is getting cuter every day. He brings me things he wants to do, like books or a bag of crackers. He loves dancing and playing Monster with us. I just know that he and I would feel SO much better and be SO much happier if he took a nap.

I need HELP!
How do you get your one year old to take a nap!? And I mean a nap longer than 20 minutes! I have tried everything!!! Well, obviously not everything, but Jonah is a wreck all day long because of it. I'm so frustrated with it, I have even thought about putting him in his crib and closing the door for an hour. I can't do that though. Is there any other way? Anybody? He is impossible to take anywhere too. Yesterday, I brought Lunch to Zach on his break, and afterwards I ran errands for a couple hours. It got to the point where I would bribe Jonah with a frosted Cookie to be good!.. That failed too! He threw cookie on the ground and I had to clean up the mess while other moms walked by and eyed me for giving my son a cookie!! I know, my child is going to have diabetes.

the only thing I make sure to do is is be really consistent about the time I put Leyna down. If I miss it, it's gone- and I really plan my life around naptime, so I make sure she (almost) always gets one consistently. I also put her down right after lunch so she's good and tired AND I would try putting him down earlier at night- crazy enough, if they sleep for a long time at night, they take better naps. I know Cristin is against letting them cry it out, but I'm not and Leyna learned that nap time is nap time. Good luck!!
My little guy is a few week older that yours and he does the exact same thing. You have to learn that all babies go through phases. This is a phase. It will pass. Just like when they are really little and they change their schedules all the time, this is the same process. My boy is being such a stinker too, he won't take naps and he gets up at 5 in the morning. Its a joke. The only thing I can suggest is what Trine said, be very consistant. It will change in a few weeks. oh ya, this is Andrea Olson Tao by the way, in case you were wondering.
Wear him out early on in the day. I'm sure you try that, but that is the best advice I have, besides letting him cry (sorry Cristin) and being consistant with that and the times you want him to nap.
I love reading your blog and watching that sweet little Jonah grow up! I can't believe he is one already! I love your new haircut and the color too!
