Your new look scares me.

Jonah has two top teeth now. He feels the need to show them off whenever I take a picture of him. But why does he have to do it in such a scary way? It makes Zach ad I laugh pretty hard.

Fabric Flowers

The other night I surfed the web to find something cute to do with all this fabric of mine lying around! I really didn't want to get out the sewing machine but I wanted to do something fun and quick (especially since I stay up late waiting for my husband to get home!) and here's what I came up with..
These adorable fabric flowers! You can find the tutorial here. They are SO easy and quick! I made a whole bunch and didn't know what to do with all them! I started experimenting by making pins for my bulletin board
You can pin them on shirts, sweaters, or magnets for the fridge.. I made a couple head bands for myself! It's times like these I really wish I had a baby girl! Oh Well!!
Jonah saw all my fabric lying on the ground and wanted in on the fun! He especially liked this animal print! Maybe I'll make him a blanket with it. What a model! Cracks me up!

Call me Granny

Just a funny side note on my last post. When I showed Zach the monogram I made, this was our conversation.
Zach: "Well, I like it! But it's kind of border line granny."
me: "What do you mean border line granny?"
Zach: " Well it's just a good thing you have the polka dots on the sides or else it would be for a grandma."
me: "I don't think so! This paper isn't grandma paper!"
Zach: Well ya, you just need to watch where you put it. Like if you put it next to a glass figurine of a little girl praying, then it's really granny."
He thinks everything that's floral is "granny". That's definitely a problem because I love floral!
So now I'm a little self conscious about my N. I think I have to try and make it a little more "hip". Guys are so funny.

I love paper

I really do.. I could stand in the scrapbook paper isle for hours, wishing there was a way to use it all! Here's my little fun projects with fun paper:

Because of Me..

Jonah came crawling out of my bedroom wearing a necklace. I think this is a cry for some more "guy time" with dad!..Zach had to drink his shake out of the blender because his wife procrastinated doing the dishes all day!

Sunday

I'm absolutely thrilled!

Two things I can't stop smiling about are:

1. Jonah is growing like a weed! Yesterday I went to Wal-Mart (yes, I shop at wal-mart cringe) and for only $12.00, I bought him 5 shirts and a pair of shorts! What a bargain! What I don't understand is why does that store sell descent boy clothes but all their woman's clothes look like something from 1990? F.Y.I. Jonah is 9 months and I have to buy him 18 month old clothes! I wonder what size he will be when he is 18 months!

2. My VERY CLEAN closet! I should have taken a before picture, but that's an image I want to block from my memory. So we will just pretend like it's always this clean!

..I can do anything better than you!no you can't!

Cupcake of my Dreams

Does this cupcake look incredible or what!? I'm a big cup cake girl. For example, I really wanted a cupcake tower for my wedding cake, unfortunately everyone laughed at the idea. something like this
I finally gave up the fight and settled for a normal cake. (It ended up being perfect though!)
So a while ago I was watching Oprah and her show was on all the best desserts in America. She had Maggie Moo's Ice cream and Treatery on from Chicago and specifically highlighted their incredibly popular signature ice cream cupcakes! I instantly slobbered at the tv screen and have since then had a 4 month long CRAVING for these supposedly "to die for cupcakes!" Well, fate brought us together when we moved to Chicago! There just happens to be a Maggie Moo's at our local Mall!
Every time I pass the shop, I stand there for about 5 minutes debating whether or not it's really worth 4 dollars for ONE cupcake! I usually brush it off and try to think about how I could probably find a cute shirt for 4 dollars instead! Yesterday though, I finally broke! I gave myself a pep talk "Caitlin, you DESERVE a cup cake!" so.... I bought the most EXPENSIVE cupcake and split it with Jonah, ..kind of. Did my taste buds explode with flavor? NO! I was thinking the whole time,..."THIS IS IT!? I could make this!" I ate four dollars in four bites. Very disappointing. Thanks for all the trouble Oprah!

I think I'm in love

I found the cutest shoes at Victoriasecret.com! I never would have thought to go to victoria secret for shoes (I always go there for my lingerie though. just kidding) but I am IN LOVE with their wedges and especially all the Colin Stuart shoes. Every pair I have my eye on end up being Colin Stuart. Anyway, I just had to share. Go to victoriasecret.com and check out their wedges especially. They are all around $19.99 and up! Not bad!

I found these Colin Stuart pumps on sale 2 for $88.. I love the pink and white! Okay, so go buy some cute wedges and I'll stop blabbering on about how much I love shoes.

*Note though that some of their shoes do look kind of scandalous. You just have to sort through them.

Have confidence! Believe in yourself!

Jonah has been working very hard lately on his skills in standing! It's a huge deal in our house every time Jonah stands on his own.My sister Kelley is determined to get Jonah walking by the end of this month. She was supposedly walking by nine months. Every time Jonah stands on his own, we all scream, clap and say "DID YOU SEE THAT!? HE WAS STANDING FOR LIKE 10 SECONDS THAT TIME!"
In order to teach Jonah this, I taught him to raise his arms in the air and I always say,"Reach for the Sky!" as he reaches and stands on his own! It's actually really funny to watch! When Kelley and her husband Vak came over a week ago, we showed Vak Jonah's new trick. (It's sad how my child sounds like a pet) Vak thought it was soo funny that we said, "Reach for the sky" and so Vak started telling Jonah instead..(while raising his arms up) "Have confidence! Believe in yourself!" Anyways.. it was really funny at the time. You'd probably have to be there, or know Vak.
Jonah has been raising his arms up all day long while he crawls around the house. Do you think maybe he's confused as to what we are cheering for? Probably.

This past week....

..has been so much fun! First, Jonah turned 9 months old! He is such an old man now! He's learning so many tricks..He's saying "TA DA!"
His hair is WILD...sooo curly!
It was my sister Kelley's birthday on Tuesday, and all the girls went to the beach! The beach was nice except for the creepy oil plants on each side!
Jonah did NOT like the beach! I also wasn't very prepared for the trip, this picture shows everything I had with me. Since Jonah was afraid of the sand and the water, we spent most of the time cuddled on my tiny towel, while ants crawled all over us.
Poor husbands, they work so hard, while we layout at the beach.
Afterward, we went home and ordered Take out from Outback! Then we all sang Happy Birthday to Kelley with the beautiful cake I made. The only candles we could find said 23. Kelley didn't mind being a couple years younger!
And today Jonah found a new fort! He climbs in every cabinet he can fit into!

He can totally get away with it

Ever wondered what it would be like to go on a date wit Jim Carrey? To be honest, I haven't. But can you imagine if your date picked you up wearing this?
.. and then took you to the beach.
