father & son

Emma had a doctor's appointment early in the morning and as I came to say good bye to these boys, they were already in their zone. Zach said, "Now you know what we do when your gone."

Oh! I was wondering why Jonah's never dressed and the house is always chaotic when I come home! Excuse the mess, but I couldn't help but snap pictures of this scene.

Zach and Jonah are two peas in a pod. Jonah watches his daddy so closely these days, he wants to wear his shoes, his hat, glasses, he wants to drive Zach's remote control monster truck ( yes my husband has a remote control car. Does yours?)If Zach says, "That's Sweet!" Jonah says, "Dats SWEET!".
When Zach gets home from work Jonah always screams, "MOMMY!!! DADDY'S HERE!!! HUWWY! WOOK!! DADDY'S HERE!" in his Tiny Tim voice, it's so cute.

So oh well if they play rock band for the whole 4 hours I'm gone. Maybe Jonah will be a great drummer one day because of it.

Then I get to listen to him practice every night. yay.

taking off

Emma has become so mobile just in the past week! She loves shoes. Takes after her momma. Today I put her down in the playroom, left to change Jonah's diaper and when I came back she was in the hallway trying to eat my sneakers!
Then she pulled another trick today. As I was snapping pictures of Jonah I looked over and she sat herself up! These shots catch the moment perfectly! Emma was flailing her arms and practically bouncing up and down with excitement! Yes, she was one proud chunker.
My parents loaned us a walker from their house, and today while Jonah was driving his little red car around Emma started chasing him in the walker! I have never laughed so hard watching her bounce up and down  to him! He thought it was pretty funny too.
Jonah, just you wait till she can walk!

When your kids wake up at 5 AM

It's  a challenge to wake up at 5 every morning to Jonah eating ice cream out of the carton on the kitchen floor or sitting on the counter in my bathroom brushing his teeth (with my tooth brush of course!) So I try and motivate myself to get up every morning by taking the kids on an early walk. It's a good way to wake myself up and begin my day of mothering. I took some pictures from our walk the other day, it was starting to get hot out and I was really wishing I had a double stroller! This is getting ridiculous:
So I finally broke and bought a double jogging stroller online today.. aww... my life will forever change. I can't wait.

Jonah loved feeding the ducks his sandwich.

And as always, Emma was having the time of her life in the swing!

Jonah played with sand. He has really loved the dirt lately. He's always playing with dump trucks outside. My mom even bought him his own gardening set!

I love being a mom to these two. Jonah is such a loving big brother and Emma absolutely adores him!

He often makes me stop on the walk to check how Emma is doing in the stroller. She smiles at him of course and he begins to tickle her toes, then gives her the pacifier and a kiss. It's so sweet to see his love and concern for her. So now you have a taste of our mornings. Can you tell I was in a black and white mood putting these photos together?

5.21.10

We took advantage of Zach's day off yesterday and once again, spent it in the sun. I have never seen such a water baby before! She is going to love The Little Mermaid!
Jonah on the other hand won't dare get deeper than his knees. He will only get in if he can ride in Emma's floaty. I think next summer we'll give swim lessons a try.
Emma passed out after an hour and was snug as a bug.
So while Zach and Alex went snorkeling in the pool, Jonah and I joined in. It was a great day. Haven't I been so good about posting lately!? I'm really trying!!

summer has arrived

It's getting hot here in Arizona and when that happens there's no better place to be than the pool!
We've been swimming a lot lately either at our club house or Wo wo and Grandpas. As I type this I am reminding myself to buy some aloe Vera for that bad sun burn on my back.

These are pictures from the water park last week.

It took Jonah a while to feel comfortable in the water, I think his favorite cousin Alli motivated him to be brave. By the end of the day he was all for it!

Emma was a little pool bum.

She stayed like this the whole afternoon. (We were only there for a couple hours)

We are loving the sun right now and I'm sure that's only because it's in the 90's. Don't know how we will feel once it hits the triple digits.

I'm just throwing in these pictures as documentation:

This is what I say all day long. Emma is a good sport for the most part but you really have to watch Jonah like a hawk. Now that Emma is starting to crawl he seems to think she can be thrown around a lot more.
They really love each other though.. and he always apologizes.

All Aboard!

We took the kids to the Railroad Park in Scottsdale yesterday. It was almost as good as Disney land for Jonah. His dream came true when he got to ride in a real life train! Tunnel and all! He was smiling like this the whole ride.

After the successful train ride (I really thought a kid was going to go overboard, it didn't exactly have walls or seat belts.) We went to the play ground.

Jonah came running to us with ice cream all over his arm, apparently some little girl was sharing her cone with all the children on top of the slide. nice.

Emma wanted in on the fun too.

I took her out once she started gnawing the swing.

After Jonah split his lip open, we headed to the merry go round.

We ran out of tickets so decided to leave and meet up with my sister Kaci for ice cream.

Overall it was a great experience! We will definitely be going back!

Best things in life are free

No it's not Jonah's Birthday.. Even though he definitely thought it should be! Zachary turned the big 24 yesterday! I will have more on that soon.. but this post is really to show off his birthday present to himself.. I HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS!!!

Meet Conrad (aka Oreo)

don't tell me I'm crazy... i said the same thing.

our free craigslist kitty

I don't really understand why he wanted a kitten so badly. Ever since we got rid of poor George Zachary has missed that little guy so much. I tried to remind him of his allergic reaction to cats but he has insisted it was really due to the fresh flowers they had all over the hospital.. sure. Zach also says his seasonal allergies are so bad why not throw in a cat! So we will see. Jonah has been a little better with this one. He wants to put it to bed, and never wants to put it on the ground. He's a cute little kitty though. Only seven weeks. light green eyes, a little white spot on its tummy, and litter box trained. He scales the side of our bed too! Good entertainment!

Emma showing Conrad how to play with broken electronics

More on this guy later and Zachary's B-day. Wish us luck! I hope he lasts longer than George.
