Jonah

Look at this handsome young man! Ok. He's only four! Geez. How did he grow up so fast? I look at Micah and think "wow. that used to be Jonah."
Jonah is a sweet, loving, energetic boy. He loves everyone and everything. When he prays at night he always asks heavenly father to bless daddy, mommy, Emma, Micah, his fish, his caterpillar (that died months ago), his  cat (That we kind of abandoned at our rental), valentines day, Santa Claus, oh and his grandparents.

This boy is the most outgoing, friendliest little guy you will ever meet! True Story- The week of Christmas we were grocery shopping and Jonah noticed a little old lady shopping alone, he asked me if it was alright if he wished her a Merry Christmas. I told him ok and next thing I know Jonah walks off down a different isle trying to keep up with the little lady yelling "Excuse me! Excuse me!" I waited at the end of the isle and watched as he got her attention and totally caught her off gaurd, Then Jonah smiles and says "MERRY BRISTMAS!!! AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR! Goodbye!!!"
The look on her face was priceless.

Jonah talks to everyone! We've had numerous discussions with him on not talking to strangers and he just doesn't get it. The other day I read him 'The Bearnstein Bears learn about Strangers' and when I asked him what a stranger is Jonah answered, " A stranger is a bad guy who carries a sword and tries to kill you!"
I said, " No. Jonah .." and then he went on " OH a stranger hides his sword? And then he will take you to his castle and you will say "I don't know you! Don't hurt me!" ha ha ha  where does he come up with this!?

He is so animated and gets excited over everything!!!He has such a pure heart if he isn't nice to Emma he always says "Oh Mommy I'm sorry I hit Emma!" or he'll hide from me and then cry and say "I'm sorry!"
He loves to build towers and play with his cars, he especially LOVES paper airplanes and could spend all day flying one around the house. He is constantly saying "Watch this mommy!"  and I'll say "Wow! That went so far!" and then instantly he replies "Ya, now watch this!"  and that could go on for an hour straight with me making remarks on every single airplane flight.
His favorite games to play are dragons and karate fighting with daddy. He and Emma are starting to play together a lot which is nice. He loves chasing her and always tries to wrestle which is hilarious to watch. Jonah has started earning an allowance and he always wants to hold onto his change and show me how much money he has.

He is also becoming such a good helper. I can always count on him to clean up his playroom, put his toys away, even vacuum! He loves to wash our kitchen table, and he is good about grabbing things for me like diapers and wipes when I need them. Whenever I go to the store he holds onto Emma's hand and tries to tell her not to touch anything, and when she does he picks it up and puts it back as he says very seriously, "Emma ... Don't touch anything!"

Jonah will tell me he loves me at least 5 times a day. Always randomly while he's playing or eating. Just says "I love you mommy!" and I'll say it back then he replies with "I love you sooo super giant much!!!!!!!"

He also loves asking me questions about Heavenly Father and Jesus, always asking such in depth questions about where Heaven is?, How we get there? How does Jesus come to Earth? Can Jesus Fly? What is Heavenly Father's name? How old is Jesus?

He loves to sing me songs! Today he kept trying to remember how Old McDonald went and did not want me to help him. He loves writing letters especially his name though lately he has started writing his name totally backwards. Not sure what that's all about but we'll work on that!

I bought him a pack of watercolor paint and he is hooked! He makes the coolest paintings and says "This one is to send to Wo wo! And this one is to hang up for Valentines Day!"

We love you so much Jonah! You are one clever boy.

Emma

Emma is now a TWO year old!
She is a busybody!
Also in the past few weeks her vocabulary has really taken off. The main thing she does is mimic me. If Micah is crying I'll say "Oh Micah, it's ok. Oh Micah." and Emma says (as she strokes Micah's head) "Oh Midah, Oh Midah. Oday Midah."
She especially copies Jonah! It was soo hilarious the first time I heard Emma say (in a very dramatic way) "OH.    MY.     DOSH. " Just like Jonah.
She is still hard to understand but we love that she is finally able to communicate to us her needs and it definitely makes it fun for Jonah to play with Emma now that she can kind of talk.

Emma loves:
-Toy Story dolls mainly her Jesse doll
- To Draw and paint!!!
- She is very attached to her purple doll with the glowing heart. Which I have Zach's mom to thanks for that! But I would definitely recommend it to anyone with a little girl! It is the best doll ever and a great crib buddy especially with a built in night light. She will use it to find her binkie in the dark. HA HA.
- Her Daddy. Every single time I take out the trash, as soon as Emma hears the Garage door close She screams, "DADDY!!!!!" thinking that daddy just got home.
- large legos
-Playing outside in our backyard full of dirt!
-riding their horse from Wo Wo and grandpa.
- Her Binkie and Silkie
-Racing
- the slide
- Being Chased
-Leap Frog Movies
-DRESS UP
-Dancing!
-Brushing her teeth
-bath time!

Singing ' Happy Birthday' to Emma

I tried to make a cute cake for her birthday party except I forgot to put frosting underneath the fondant. So it was kind of bare. Oh well.

We went to the Christmas "party" at our club house and the kids got to meet Santa. Jonah was super stoked but Emma...

She only sticks her fingers up her nose when she's either upset, scared, or going #2.

 She was not amused.

She finally calmed down when we bribed her with a candy cane.

She is a sucker for her grandparents. My dad is so good about spending time with them and picking him up Saturday mornings. Poor Emma isn't quite old enough yet and she just sobs at the door until they leave then suddenly she's fine again!

We sure love our little miss curly. She definitely keeps me busy, always one step ahead of me. Yet as energetic as she is, she still lets me know when it's nap time and time for bed and I appreciate her desire to rest. ;)

december and january

These are in no order. How long has it been since I posted on this blog!?! WOW! It's about time! I don't have time to write captions right now. I'll come back later and write. But this is a little Christmas and just some randoms.
