Is five months old!!!! (8 days ago..I am a slacker

We Love this little Chunk sooo much!! She is such a happy happy girl!!

She is in the 50th percentile for weight
75th for height
25th for head! Complete opposite of Jonah who was short, fat with a BIG head!~

At five months Emma:

*Rolls over on tummy, but can't (or just doesn't) roll back over. I don't think I have ever seen her try. Tummy is best! I can't get her to stay on her back any more.

* For the most part, she only will laugh for her big brother. He doesn't even have to be looking at her and she will just bust out a huge giggle! If she sees him throwing a fit, that makes her laugh too!

* Started giving her rice cereal at night and she absolutely LOVES it. She doesn't even need to wear a bib.

* Still waking up between 2-3 maybe 4 times a night? I think a lot of it has to do with teething and her acid reflux. But hopefully her new meds will help with that. (because I am sooo  tired.   all.  the.    time.)
* She grabs anything and everything in arms reach! Jonah doesn't like it too much when she grabs his trains going around the track.

* She BABBLES and coo's very loudly and all the time. Especially at five in the morning, when she wants to wake up. She is going to be a chatter box.

* Emma is starting to push herself up on her arms and tries SO hard to crawl.

* She doesn't want to be rocked , just lay her down in her crib with her binkie and she dozes off fast. It's amazing.

* She is very very squirmy, I can't remember if Jonah was like this, but she kicks and is bouncing around constantly!

We love her sweet spirit in our home and I can already tell she and Jonah are going to have a lot of fun growing up together!

the singing bee

Jonah loves, I mean LOVES to sing! Sometimes in the car I can hear him trying to sing a song he has never heard of on the radio.  The funniest part about it is his lack of pronunciation. He tries so hard to keep up with the song but he can only sing the last word in every phrase. I just caught him singing along with Little Einsteins. Excuse his lack of clothing, that's just how he rolls.

Notice his arms prancing around just like the cartoon? It just KILLS me!!!

baby on board.. HELLO!!!!

I have WAY too many posts I need to catch up on but I will instead take a minute to talk about an important matter: IDIOT PARKERS.

WHY is it that every time I drive with Emma (which is basically every time)  I park in a nice open spot, but when I return to my car somebody has decided to park AS CLOSE as they possibly can to my car?! I mean, it is ridiculous how often this happens to me. Maybe its Arizona, but one time it was so bad that I had to climb through Jonah's car seat, with Emma's car seat to strap her in!!! There is no way that driver was even able to open his door. They had to have climbed out the passengers door! I know there is an obvious solution to this which is to park WAY far away. I don't mind doing that except that I have a bad back, lugging around a 50 pound car seat and sometimes you can't get a shopping cart until you get inside. The worst is when I have both kids with me. I just don't get how people can be so inconsiderate and so lazy that they can't even take 2 minutes to re-adjust their parking job!

I have come to the conclusion that families with kids under 1 who are required to be in a rear facing car seat should have a handy cap tag. Those baby carriers are HuGE and annoying to take in and out of the car, but it's not like she is big enough to walk or sit up in a shopping cart yet!
One more thing that has been getting me lately are stores with no cart returns! Do they really expect a mother with little children to leave her children unattended in the hot car while she walks all the way back in the store to return the cart?? I normally am really good about returning my shopping cart too.. but when there is no cart return and I am with the baby, I will just shove that shopping cart in the nearest corner.  I'm thinking of getting a baby on board sticker.

Does that really make a difference? Maybe I should put a big sign on my car that says, "PLEASE LEAVE AT LEAST 3 FEET." and if that doesn't work than I will just leave a note that says, "Sorry for the dent on your car, my baby carrier is HUGE."

blessed

Zachary gave Emma a beautiful blessing Easter Sunday. Jonah was blessed at church but I found that doing the blessing at home is much more personal and flexible. It was comforting to know that I didn't have to have her happy and ready at one exact moment.

I was bummed that I wasn't able to make her a matching white headband in time, both kids were sick last week. But it was a wonderful Easter with our family. I will post more pics later of the day and our week with family in town.  Kaci can you please e-mail all the pictures you took too??
